Premanufacturing au.diselect to bring eyes to the skies.

The Audley Recreation Centre, a vital community hub, required a low-cost solution for its fire-rated painted ceiling slats. With budget in mind, Atkar collaborated closely with architects, contractors, and suppliers to provide a high-quality ceiling solution that was both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Challenges & Solutions:

This project presented unique architecture challenges and Atkar created a solution that went beyond expectations.

Curved Slat Panels for Skylights

The Challenge: One of the primary challenges was the need for slat panels to seamlessly curve up into the skylights above. Traditional installation methods would have required the shipping of individual slats, complicating the installation process and increasing labor costs.

The Solution:  To streamline the installation, Atkar produced pre-manufactured curved panels. This innovative approach minimized the complexity of the installation process, allowing for a quicker and more efficient setup. By utilizing curved panels, the installation team was able to achieve a clean and cohesive look that complemented the skylights.

Cantilevered Slats with Signage Integration

The Challenge: Another significant challenge was the integration of cantilevered slats on the vertical surfaces of the recreation center. The design needed to incorporate signage details without interfering with the alignment and visibility of the signage.

The Solution:  Atkar worked closely with designers to create a system that allowed for the cantilevered slats to be installed in a way that did not obstruct the signage. This involved precise planning and collaboration to ensure that the slats were positioned correctly while maintaining the integrity of the signage.
